Good Afternoon Apple Users,
I updated my iPhone 15 to IOS 18.0.1. None of my devices will remain connected via bluetooth. I have to repair every day. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is there a way to go back and remove this update? I have tried some google searches but am not finding the locations that users stated they used to get the old version back. While 18.0.1 may have fixed issues for other users with newer phones, it has wreaked havoc on the older phones from what I am seeing in the comments. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!!

i updated my 15 pro max before I took it into repair at Apple on 10192024 and I don’t use my AirPods or Studio Beats everyday..
but after repair my device was left in repair mode so I Thought that was the issue.
I’ve done every bit of trouble shooting I could:
resetting network settings per Apple support request
i also toggled on and off the stolen device protection (this turned off the repair mode finally)
I also deleted and re added my Bluetooth devices and to no avail nothing stays connected.
this is the hardest bug I’ve ever dealt with in all my iPhones dating back to my 4s
I hope they push out 18.1 ASAP cause this is a frustrating pain point.

Yes. This is the most annoying glitch in this update. The temporary fix is to turn off Bluetooth (in the settings) not the shortcut. Then turn it back on. Then click on the device that you want to connect. It’s sooo frustrating and annoying. This needs fixed asap.

Re-pairing doesn’t solve the issue…saw a YouTube video from a hearing specialist in Phoenix who says Apple is aware of that specific issue, and will hopefully have a fix in a future update.

I tried your suggestion regarding the VPN, and discovered it is causing the problem on my 15 Pro Max with IO 18.0.1. I tried two different VPN's and the problem occurs with either VPN profile installed, it doesn't even have to be turned on. Take the VPN profile out, and the problem ceases to exist. That in itself pretty much assures I won't be using the wifi anywhere else accept my home network until they get this problem resolved.
A little birdie told me it will be fixed in 18.1 🐥

iPhone 15 Plus, 18.1.1, still having numerous bluetooth issues, primarily with hearing aids. No VPN installed.

I haven’t experienced any Bluetooth problems with 18.0.1 on a 14 Pro, 16 pro, or XR.
You can’t get the old version back. And I haven’t seen an unusual number of complaints about 18.0.1, and probably fewer that many other previous release.
Have you tried restarting the iPhone, and checked for interference issues→Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support.
Have you also tried resetting network settings?
There ARE a few issues in 18.0.1 about a conflict between Messages and use of VPN. While I don’t think it has anything to do with your issue, you might try deleting the VPN profile inSettings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile.

Well, as it wasn’t a problem with the iOS version changing the iOS version won’t fix it. What troubleshooting have you done on your phone→If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support and→Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference - Apple Support

I’m sorry you are experiencing this issue. I have to unpair and re-pair every day. Hopefully a new update will be coming soon.

18.1 seems to have fixed the Hearing aid problem for me...so far so good! I'll keep my fingers crossed, but so far no drop-outs.

My iPhone 15 pro max has Bluetooth issues using hearing aids with phone calls. Keeps disconnecting/ reconnecting back and forth between both hearing aids…started with IO 18 update. Phonak Paradise hearing aids. Doesn’t affect streaming music or TV…just phone calls.
